Be Positive...Through It All

As we all know, life can get you down. Anything from school, family, financial issues, relationships, your job, unemployed etc. But we must remember through it all it won't last forever.

Keeping a positive outlook on life in todays world can be difficult. It may seem impossible but it's not. One thing I find helpful is affirmation.

What is affirmation?

the act or an instance of affirming state of being affirmed.

the assertion that something exists or is true.

something that is affirmed a statement or proposition thatis declared to be true.

MIND over matter...

With that being said, set affirmation goals for yourself. That is something I'm currently challenging myself to do. I try to have a different affirmation each week.

You can check out my blog Getting To Know Ashley N. where I did a blog post on Positive Affirmation Challenge

All in all, keep your head up high, and meditate as often as you can.

Be Pretty...because you ARE worth it!

This year thus far has been non-stop. I am not kidding! From post holiday season to tax season, I for one, have been bombarded with tasks that just keep piling up. My mentor would tell me, "Welcome to the real world child!!" while laughing heartily. Just the other day after running a few errands, I had a quiet moment to myself at home and just thought when was the last time I did some "frilly" or "girly" just for the heck of it? Well, the answer to that is obvious but not realizing through my never ending tasks on a daily basis has me bent all out of shape.

All I am trying to say is that ladies if you don't take time out for yourself, who will? Do not (and I repeat, do not) allow the stresses of the day control your being and ultimately give you wrinkles before its all over. As women its so easy for us to care for others whether it be a friend, co-worker, or lover but we must first care for ourselves. Lucky enough for me, I have girl friends that know me better than I know myself. We have planned a "Girl's Day Out" at the spa and I cannot wait!! I have never recieved spa services before, but figured what the heck? It can't hurt me right?

The bottom line: go get prettied up this week or weekend...you ARE so worth it!! Buy that daring new red lipstick or take you and a friend down to your nearest Sephora to get free makeovers!! Whatever it is, just make sure that you are being pampered and relax for a change. Also, have fun no matter what it is you do...this is all about Y-O-U!! if you are feeling up to it, write me your past "pretty" experience that you've encountered lately.

Until next post, adios chicas! :)

Self Love Is The Best Love

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

I hope everyone had a blessed and fulfilling day. This is day full of materialistic things. Don't feel left out if you didn't receive an item. You've received a blessing. Being able to see another day.

My big message for this post is "Self love"

What are unconditional self-acceptance and self-love?

To accept and love yourself unconditionally is to:

* Place no condition on yourself as to how to behave or what to be in order to receive self-acceptance and self-love.
* Not use "if-then" clauses in establishing conditions for accepting and loving yourself.
* Take a risk to be open and vulnerable to who you are with no preset limits or expectations.
* Accept and love yourself for the fact that you exist rather than for what you do.
* Give yourself the respect and latitude to be yourself rather than to be what others want or expect you to be.
* Set the stage for yourself to feel warmth, caring and concern for yourself which results in your growing in self-esteem and self-worth.

Now that you have a better idea of "Self love"...Loving yourself is important. You must love yourself before you can love others.
